Graduate Symposium

About the Graduate Symposium

The Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minoritized Scientists (ABRCMS) Graduate Student Symposium is designed for graduate students (master’s-level and doctoral-level) from 12 STEM disciplines. The goal of the symposium is to:

  • Highlight doctoral students' research through oral presentations,
  • Build all graduate students' scientific networks with STEM and career professionals, and
  • Strengthen all graduate students' professional development skills

The symposium will be held November 16–17, 2024 (1.5 days) in Pittsburgh, PA at the David L. Lawerence Convention Center where the ABRCMS 2024 conference will be located.

Important Dates

  • Graduate Poster Presentations & Reception:
    November 13 • 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
  • Graduate Symposium, Day 1:
    Saturday, November 16 • 10:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
  • Graduate Symposium, Day 2:
    Sunday, November 17 • 7:15 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

How to Register

All participants must be registered for the main ABRCMS conference. Please answer yes to the question, Do you wish to attend the Graduate Symposium, at the time of registering for the ABRCMS conference to reserve your space. The symposium is first come, first serve.
