Postdoctoral Recruitment Fair


Since 2001, ABRCMS has nearly tripled the number of graduate students and postdoctoral scientists. In 2008, ABRCMS offered the Postdoctoral Recruitment Fair, which provides doctoral-level graduate students and postdoctoral scientists seeking postdoctoral fellowships an opportunity to interact and network with faculty mentors and postdoctoral fellowship recruiters.

 

Benefits

  • Offers an opportunity for representatives from postdoctoral fellowship programs to recruit prospective graduate students and postdoctoral scientists
  • Provides a forum for senior doctoral-level graduate students to present their research and network with faculty, postdoctoral scientists, and peers.

 

Postdoctoral Recruitment Exhibit Booth Fees

                

With purchase of booth in main exhibit hall               $350

(Fee does not include conference registration)

Without purchase of booth in main exhibit hall          $1,250

(Fee includes one conference registration)

Exhibit booths will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.  Space is limited, so act quicklyIf you plan to purchase an exhibit booth in main hall, you must indicate so on the contract in order to receive the discounted price for the postdoctoral fair booth.

 

Exhibition Provisions for Postdoctoral Recruitment Fair

The booth fee for the ABRCMS Postdoctoral Recruitment Fair includes the following:

  • Conference registration for one individual is included with the $1,250 booth but not the $350 booth. The primary attendee listed on the contract for the full-priced booth wiill be registered by the ABRCMS staff. Booth fee includes all conference materials, all planned meals, closing banquet, refreshment breaks, and access to all sessions and workshops.
  • 10’x 10’ table space (8’ high backdrop and 3’ high dividers)
  • Carpet in table space
  • One 6’ table with skirt, two chairs, and one trash can
  • Identification sign in table space (limited to 80 characters, including spaces)
  • Program description in separate exhibitor guide for the Postdoctoral Recruitment Fair (limited to 1000 characters, including spaces)
  • Institution/organization URL on ABRCMS web site (if provided on the booth contract)
  • Invitation to Nonstudent Exhibitor Reception on Friday, November 12
  • Invitation to Networking Mixer for Graduates and Postdocs on Wednesday, November 10
  • General security service
  • Daily aisle maintenance and cleaning
  • Access to exhibitor lounge during exhibit hours (coffee and tea provided)
  • Access to the online abstract database available from October 1 - December 31.

 

How to Reserve an Exhibit Booth in the Postdoctoral Recruitment Fair

Steps for Reserving a booth:

  • Check the updated floor plan and choose your top three selections.

General Guidelines

  • All contracts must be TYPED (handwriting can be illegible on faxes).
  • Exhibit booths are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Booths are confirmed only when payment is received. Until full payment is received, booth assignments are temporary and can be released.
  • If your choices have already been assigned to another exhibitor, the next best location will be assigned to you.
  • Although we do not guarantee do to so, ABRCMS will attempt to honor all requests for specific booth assignments.

Submitting Payments:

  • Purchase orders are NOT an acceptable form of payment.
  • Check payments must be received within two weeks of the contract submission, booth assignments will not be confirmed until payment is received.
  • Only payments in the form of check, money order, or credit card will be accepted.
  • Make checks or money orders payable to the American Society of Microbiology or ASM.
  • Mail to ABRCMS Exhibits, ASM/Education, 1752 N Street NW, Washington, DC 20036.
  • ASM's federal Tax I. D. number is 38-1616141.
